On June 23, a completion event for MIRAICHI Research Center was held at the Kakuma Campus. The MIRAICHI Research Center was established as a strategic and centralized facility to support the social implementation of research seeds generated at Kanazawa University. The center was developed following its selection in April 2023 for funding under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s "Facility Development Project for Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration and Joint Research through Partnerships among Regional Core and Distinctive Research Universities."

At the event, President Takashi Wada delivered the organizer's address, which was followed by speeches by Yuichi Inoue, Director-General, Science and Technology Policy Bureau, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, by Takuro Komori, a member of the House of Representatives, and Shuji Miyamoto, a member of the House of Councillors. Next, Professor Hiroshi Hasegawa, Director of MIRAICHI Research Center, introduced the concept and vision of the MIRAICHI Research Center facility. This was followed by a tour of the facility, where the fusion research lab and start-up office were shown to the guests.

The MIRAICHI Research Center will begin full-scale operations in July 2025. It will present research seeds externally as showcases, and, while accompanying seeds from across the Hokuriku region, will strategically develop support that leads to social implementation in a one-stop manner, serving as a place for social co-creation where new knowledge and diverse human resources and organizations gather.
